Events

The Event Team helps create welcoming, organized, and meaningful environments where people can connect, build relationships, and take their next step toward Jesus. Whether serving behind the scenes or alongside guests, every role helps make church events run smoothly and creates an environment where people feel cared for and welcomed.

Ways You Can Serve

  • Set Up: Prepare rooms and event spaces by setting up tables, chairs, decorations, equipment, and other supplies.
  • Meal Service: Help prepare, serve, and clean up meals and refreshments for church events and gatherings.
  • Hospitality: Welcome and assist guests, help people find where they need to go, and create a friendly, inviting atmosphere.
  • Event Support: Be available during events to help with needs as they arise, keep spaces organized, and assist staff or ministry leaders.
  • Tear Down & Clean Up: Return spaces to their original condition by cleaning up, taking down tables and equipment, and putting supplies away.


Where You Might Serve

The Event Team serves at a variety of church gatherings and special events throughout the year. In the past, volunteers have helped with events such as:

  • Passover
  • Annual Celebration
  • Fall Kickoff
  • Marriage Conference
  • Church-wide meals and celebrations
  • Community events and gatherings
  • Seasonal and special events

Every event looks a little different, but the goal remains the same: creating a welcoming, organized environment where people can connect, build relationships, and experience the love of Christ.


What to Expect: Opportunities will vary throughout the year, and volunteers can choose which projects or events they are available to help with. Some needs may require a larger team, while others may only need one or two people. If you enjoy serving behind the scenes, have practical skills, or simply want to be available wherever there is a need, this team is a great way to serve The Naz. 

Funerals

The Funeral Help Team comes alongside families during one of life’s most difficult seasons. By serving with compassion, hospitality, and a willingness to help, volunteers provide practical support that allows families to focus on one another and the grieving process.

From preparing the space to serving a meal or helping guests, every act of service is an opportunity to show Christ’s love and care to families when they need it most.

Ways You Can Serve

  • Meal Preparation & Serving: Help prepare, set up, serve, and clean up meals provided for families and their guests.
  • Set Up: Prepare the serving space, and other details needed before the service or meal.
  • Hospitality: Serve meal to family members and guests, and provide a warm and caring presence.
  • Kitchen & Clean Up: Assist with dishes, restocking, cleaning, and returning spaces to their original condition.
  • Practical Support: Help with whatever needs arise before, during, or after the funeral to make the experience as smooth as possible for the family.
  • Presence: Serve by being a compassionate presence.

Where You Might Serve

Funeral Help volunteers may be called upon to serve during funerals, memorial services, or meals hosted at The Naz. Each situation is different, and the needs of the family will help determine where volunteers are needed.

Whether you’re prepping the serving station and food, greeting a guest, washing dishes, or simply offering a caring presence, your service communicates something important: this family is not alone. Through practical acts of love and hospitality, we have the opportunity to care for people and reflect the compassion of Jesus when they need it most.
